MotoGP 2011 - Round 2 at Jerez De La Frontera
Marco raced to the top, passing Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Stoner on the way, lad the race for a while and sadly highsided and crased out.
Despite crashing into Stoner when loosing the front end in a corner, VR46 came back to 5th overall.
The best MotoGP Dainese rider this weekend was Nicky Hayden, the 69 taking his Ducati to a 3rd podium spot finish. Congrats to the Kentucky Kid!

Double wins for Dainese riders last weekend at AMA Road Atlanta
Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Blake Young and M4 Monster Energy Suzuki's Martin Cardenas swept the top of the podiums last weekend in Georgia when they both scored a double-win for Round 5 and 6 of the AMA Pro road racing series.
The two Dainese riders battled hard in their respective classes to dominate their competition during the weekend.
In the American Superbike class, Dainese's Blake Young took his first win of the season on Saturday, repeating his performance the next day after leading the whole race. Blake is now third in series standing, only 15 points from the leader, with 12 more races to go.
It was another positive weekend for AGV Dainese's Chris Ulrich who took his Team Roadracingworld.com Suzuki GSX-R 1000 to two Top 10 finishes. Ulrich is now 6th in the series points standing.
In the Daytona Sportbike class, Dainese's Martin Cardenas dominated Road
Atlanta with 2 race wins for Team Monster Energy M4, making it 3 for the season. Cardenas now stands 3rd overall, 14 points from the leader.
Road Atlanta was a great weekend too for Vesrah Suzuki's Cory West. The AGV Dainese rider scored a very much deserved 2-3 finishes, taking him to 4th in the series points standing.
Joining West in the race for the podium on Sunday was AGV Dainese's Steve Rapp. Both riders were part of a group of 6 very close riders who diced it out until the the checkered flag. Despite leading the pack for a while, Latus Ducati's Rapp finished 6th on Sunday, repeating his Saturday results. 6th is also Steve's point standing position after 5 races.
In the Supersport class, Dainese's Tomas Puerta went 5-4, taking him to 4th in the points standing, while AGV Dainese's James Rispoli, after an unlucky Saturday race, finished 7th on Sunday.
We would like to also wish a prompt recovery to Dainese's Aaron Yates, the
Team Jordan Suzuki rider being out for a few rounds after breaking his leg
at the previous round at Fontana.

AGV Dainese stars shine at WSBK Imola
What an incredible World Superbike weekend at Imola! Both races saw amazing racing throughout the field with strong battles for the podium spots.
This was a first for AGV Dainese's Marco Simoncelli who was replacing Nakano on the Aprilia RSV4. Marco showed that he's very much ready for the move to the big bikes of MotoGP. Marco came back from about 11th to 4th in Race 1 before he low-sided and crashed out of the race.
In Race 2, Supersic started around 10th, coming back on the leaders mid-race to battle with Dainese teammate Max Biaggi and Yamaha's Ben Spies for the 3rd, celebrating his first podium in WSBK, at "home" in Imola. Congrats Marco, bellissimo!!
The Roman Emperor wasn't on top form at Imola too. Max lead most of Race 1, racing Ducati's Haga and Fabrizio. Biaggi took 2nd in Race 1, passing Fabrizio in the last corner.
Great weekend for the two AGV Dainese boyz!
WSBK standings after round of :
Haga - 391 pts
Spies - 388
Fabrizio - 330
Rea - 263
Max Biaggi - 257

Dainese riders Rossi and Lorenzo give a racing lesson at MotoGP of Catalunya
Fiat Yamaha, and Dainese riders, Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo offered the crowd and fans one of the most epic racing battles of the decade when they took it to the final corner at Montmelo, for the 2009 MotoGP of Catalunya, this past Sunday.
VR46 passes Lorenzo in the last corner, signing his second victory of the season and tying in points and race wins with his teammate and Ducati's Casey Stoner.
The GP in Montmelo marked Valentino's 99th race win.
The last lap...
Valentino Rossi - 1st
“As we say in Italy, “Mamma Mia!” I think I can honestly say that this was one of the best and hardest wins of my career. Maybe Laguna last year was more important but this was a great, great victory because it went to the very last corner and it’s a long time since that has happened. I have dreamed about that move for the last two weeks and today it worked and I am so happy to have this 99th win. We did a perfect job all weekend and my M1 and Bridgestone tyres were brilliant, but we knew that Lorenzo was in the same situation and for sure he was very strong today. I had to be very brave and take it right to the limit in order to beat him. This victory today is more important than the 25 points and anyway now we all have the same, what a championship this is! As well as thanking my team, I especially want to dedicate this win to my Crew Chief Jeremy Burgess because his mother sadly died yesterday. I have to say thank you to her and to him because without him, for sure, I would never have arrived at 99 wins. Now I am going to go to sleep for quite a long time because I need to recover from this excitement!”
Jorge Lorenzo – 2nd
“This was an incredible battle today and a brilliant show for everyone, I am happy to have been a part of it. Of course I am sad to have lost because I put my heart on my bike and in my career I am more used to winning these last-lap fights, but today Valentino was maybe a little bit cleverer or a little bit braver than me at the very end and he was able to beat me. In fact during that last lap, after I passed him, I expected him to pass me back on the brakes much earlier but he didn’t come, and then I just didn’t close the line enough on the final corner and that was it. I am proud however because I am young and I still have a lot to learn in this class. My team have worked so well all weekend so thanks to them, if we can continue as strongly as this all season then who knows what can happen?”

Dainese and MotoGP legends Nieto and Rossi in Qatar

From MotoGP.com
Angel Nieto (look for a Nieto replica AGV helmet to be released in 2010)
“Stoner is very strong, but Rossi is very close and Lorenzo could get there,” analysed the Spaniard from inside the Losail International Circuit paddock, before indicating that a ‘Laguna Seca-esque’ strategy from Rossi would be needed to tame Stoner and prevent an Australian victory.
”Rossi needs to use a tactic to stop Stoner from escaping, because if he goes away from the start it will be hard to stop him. For the podium I think they will both be there, and also Lorenzo if he pushes very hard.”
